Materials:
Tutoring Students will be using hands-on materials within the classroom...no materials are required from home.  Piano students MUST have an instrument to practice on at home.

*Piano students may use an acoustic/digital piano or a keyboard.

If using a keyboard, you will also need a keyboard stand and a bench.

Cancellations:
I do not give refunds for missed lessons. If you need to cancel a lesson, for any reason, please call and we will try to schedule a makeup lesson whenever possible. When calling, please leave a message on my voicemail (as I do not answer the phone while teaching).

If I need to cancel a lesson, for any reason, you will not be charged. I will credit you that lesson toward the next month's tuition.
If you decide to discontinue lessons, I ask for two weeks paid notice.

Summer Policy:
I run a 12-month studio, so I expect students to continue their lessons through the summer. If you choose to stop lessons for the summer, this is fine; but I cannot reserve your time-slot for you. If a new student requests that time, it will be filled. You will have to re-enroll in the fall. Thank you for your understanding.

Expectations:
Students are expected to attend lessons with all materials. Home practice is directly related to success! To help with student motivation, incentives will be offered throughout the year for practice time and goal attainment. Please remember that for most students, frequency of practice is more important than length of time. As students progress, the amount of time will need to increase and the expectations will be discussed at the individual lessons. Practice immediately after your lesson! Studies show that students who wait 24 hours after their lesson to practice lose 70% of what was learned! If a student waits 48 hours, the number jumps to 90%! Practice when the information is still fresh in your mind.
